It's been a while, but here is a little piece I put together during an experimental phase some time back. The main scene is, as always, Terragen, but the texturing was done through the use of masks generated by World Machine. I wondered wether I could try for something which a looked little more like snow which has been moved and settled. Not sure how real it looks though.

The terrain itself is taken from Mount Shasta, CA

On a side note: For all those who left a comment recently and not recieved a reply from me, my apologies, I feel guilty but I have had way too many to get round everyone. Each one of them I have read and will take all the suggestions on board. Thank you for each and every one of them.

looks very nice.. landscape looks very barren though =/ i dont know what the real world surroundings are like but maybe a layer of foilage would be nice :shrug:

As for the pic: Awesome as always :) love the snow texture! think the pic cud do wit sommat else to liven it up, or act as a better focal point, but its still good.. and im not a fan of huge white borders lol :P

THE MASTER has submitted a new piece! could be a martian scenery if the sand had another color and the atmosphere would be more mars like. ;) i really like the texturing here - even if it looks a bit odd after a short look, but a closer one is needed to see the details. very nice terragen work =)

There's too much texture - you can't see that kind of snow detail at that distance. It would work on a very small-scale piece, for somthing much closer to the viewer.

There's something about it that's not very stotty, but it does possess the quality you are known for! :)
