I am trying to tear myself away from realism for a little while because I am trying to do some work in a fantasy scene for another wonderful deviant. I am soooo struggling though, so I decided to play a little to get a feel for fantasy stuff. Dunno how to explain the curving sun rays in this but it made me think of something more powerful from above....
The trees, hmmm so not my style - well I can imagine some of you going omg stotty put some veg in lol...
This panorama was composed of four separate renders (5 including the trees).
hmmm. good colors, looks more realistic than fantasy to me though. we get skies that color here in socal several times in the year... it's the sun going through the smog somtimes. well sometimes it's actual clouds too. the lighting of the scenery looks a bit fantasy-ish, though it's still something that could look like it's been taken with a camera. hmm, i'd change that white border...it makes the border pop out instead of the image, escpecially since the image isn't b&w and it's on the darker side. if you like it, it's cool tho...
I would have to lean towards colored reality. The trees do a good job framing the shot. A very attractive shot. Fantasy? Well lets say fantasy is what happens in the world, not necessarily the world itself.

Artists can color the sky red because they know its blue; the rest of us must color the sky as it really is or others might think we're stupid.
I like the good mix of various cool colours.
4 renders? does that mean there will be a super high res one out later as well? hope so! (I will FAV the high res one when it is released!)
The only part I don't really like, is the way the colour of the water (and/or what's underneath it) changes so suddenly. I think if it faded more smoothly and gradually, it would look even better. And yeah, I think it looks pretty real - just like one of *freezejeans' panorama photos . It's got that wide-angles lens feel to it. Great job.
ROCKS! You always give great support for the right causes. Always giving honest constructive critism. you deserve some kinda deviousness award too
And about the image, how can anyone not love it? your like the god of terragen! heh good colours for the sky and great and the water is really cool. Good work man. I cant imagine the level you can improve to! amzing.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
